O programa conversou com o cientista do Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE)\u00a0<strong>Antonio Nobre<\/strong>\u00a0sobre os poss\u00edveis impactos irrevers\u00edveis da destrui\u00e7\u00e3o na floresta amaz\u00f4nica.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Por 50 milh\u00f5es de anos, a Amaz\u00f4nia lidou com desafios clim\u00e1ticos de uma maneira extraordin\u00e1ria, ela sempre foi capaz de se recuperar. O que n\u00f3s vemos hoje \u00e9 que a floresta n\u00e3o sabe lidar com motosserra, com trator com corrent\u00e3o e, principalmente, com o fogo&#8221;, disse o cientista.<\/p>\n<p>Antonio Nobre ainda ressaltou as consequ\u00eancias das queimadas para o ciclo de chuvas em todo o pa\u00eds: &#8220;O fogo, em particular, tem um efeito de comprometer o mecanismo de chuvas porque produz fuma\u00e7a e fuligem. A fuma\u00e7a e a fuligem secam as nuvens de chuva na Amaz\u00f4nia e, quando isso acontece, chove muito menos durante o per\u00edodo da seca&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>De acordo com o cientista, por conta das queimadas que atingem a regi\u00e3o ao longo de anos, parte da floresta j\u00e1 atingiu um ponto que n\u00e3o pode ser revertido. &#8220;A gente est\u00e1 destruindo as vantagens que o Brasil tinha com rela\u00e7\u00e3o a abund\u00e2ncia de chuva, a sequestro de carbono, e outros benef\u00edcios, sem falar na biodiversidade amaz\u00f4nica, que \u00e9 uma riqueza imensa que est\u00e1 se perdendo.
