pl\u00e1sticos possam se fragmentar rapidamente sob a a\u00e7\u00e3o da luz solar e do estresse mec\u00e2nico, os fragmentos gerados permanecem no ambiente por anos, com uma massa molecular elevada demais para a biodegrada\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>Isso significa que os pl\u00e1sticos convencionais podem persistir nos oceanos por d\u00e9cadas antes de come\u00e7arem a se degradar biologicamente.<\/p>\n<p>Essa longa perman\u00eancia no ambiente explica o aumento cont\u00ednuo da tonelagem de micropl\u00e1sticos nos oceanos.<\/p>\n<p>O fluxo de entrada \u2013 ou seja, a quantidade de pl\u00e1sticos que chegam aos oceanos \u2013 \u00e9 muito superior ao fluxo de sa\u00edda, que ocorre principalmente pela biodegrada\u00e7\u00e3o e pela deposi\u00e7\u00e3o nas linhas costeiras.<\/p>\n<p>Como resultado, o problema se agrava com o passar do tempo.<\/p>\n<h3>A perman\u00eancia prolongada dos pl\u00e1sticos no oceano<\/h3>\n<p>O problema dos micropl\u00e1sticos oce\u00e2nicos surgiu porque o tempo de perman\u00eancia dos pl\u00e1sticos convencionais no ambiente \u00e9 extremamente longo em compara\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 taxa de incorpora\u00e7\u00e3o de novos
