dir=\"auto\">Embora muitas empresas de tecnologia divulguem os n\u00fameros totais de suas emiss\u00f5es de carbono e uso direto de \u00e1gua em relat\u00f3rios anuais de sustentabilidade, elas class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\"><span dir=\"auto\">Depois de calcular quanta eletricidade esses sistemas de IA provavelmente consumiriam, ele p\u00f4de usar essa informa\u00e7\u00e3o para prever a quantidade de polui\u00e7\u00e3o que aquece o planeta e que provavelmente seria gerada. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\"><span dir=\"auto\">O valor estimado ficou entre 32,6 e 79,7 milh\u00f5es de toneladas anualmente. Para efeito de compara\u00e7\u00e3o,\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/comptroller.nyc.gov\/services\/for-the-public\/nyc-climate-dashboard\/emissions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span dir=\"auto\">a cidade de Nova York emite<\/span><\/a><span dir=\"auto\"> cerca de 50 milh\u00f5es de toneladas de di\u00f3xido de carbono por ano.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\"><span dir=\"auto\">Os centros de dados tamb\u00e9m podem ser\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/graphics\/2025-ai-impacts-data-centers-water-data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span dir=\"auto\">grandes consumidores de \u00e1gua<\/span><\/a><span dir=\"auto\">, um problema igualmente ligado ao seu consumo de eletricidade. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\"><span dir=\"auto\">A \u00e1gua \u00e9 usada nos sistemas de refrigera\u00e7\u00e3o dos centros de dados para evitar o superaquecimento dos servidores. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\"><span dir=\"auto\">As usinas de energia tamb\u00e9m demandam quantidades significativas de \u00e1gua para resfriar os equipamentos e acionar as turbinas a vapor, o que representa a maior parte da pegada h\u00eddrica de um centro de dados. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\"><span dir=\"auto\">O incentivo \u00e0 constru\u00e7\u00e3o de novos centros de dados para IA generativa tamb\u00e9m\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/report\/782952\/ai-electricity-demand-inflated-forecast-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span dir=\"auto\">impulsionou planos para a constru\u00e7\u00e3o de mais usinas de energia<\/span><\/a><span dir=\"auto\">, que, por sua vez, consomem mais \u00e1gua (e geram mais polui\u00e7\u00e3o por gases de efeito estufa, caso queimem combust\u00edveis f\u00f3sseis).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"duet--article--article-body-component\">\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\"><span dir=\"auto\">Segundo de Vries-Gao, a IA poder\u00e1 utilizar entre 312,5 e 764,6 bilh\u00f5es de litros de \u00e1gua este ano.
