Pl\u00e1stico!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">N\u00e3o apenas sacolas pl\u00e1sticas de uso \u00fanico, mas quase tudo \u00e9 embalado ou engarrafado em pl\u00e1stico &#8211; de ervilhas congeladas a batatas frescas \u2013 do sanduiche ao leite \u2013 de latas de cerveja a jornais, televisores e at\u00e9 t\u00e1buas de passar roupas<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> \u2013 n\u00e3o podemos nos esquecer das PET -.<\/span> Na parte de tr\u00e1s da loja, h\u00e1 hectares de embalagens pl\u00e1sticas termo encolhidas, paletes e pl\u00e1stico bolha usado para entrega de mercadorias a granel. Por qu\u00ea? &#8211; Porque o pl\u00e1stico \u00e9, na maioria dos casos, o melhor e mais econ\u00f4mico material para proteger os bens contra os danos, contamina\u00e7\u00e3o e desperd\u00edcio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Ent\u00e3o, por que as pessoas est\u00e3o preocupadas com pl\u00e1stico nos supermercados?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Porque o pl\u00e1stico \u00e9 fabricado a partir de petr\u00f3leo ou g\u00e1s natural, que \u00e9 um recurso finito? &#8211; Isto \u00e9 um erro, porque na verdade \u00e9 feito a partir de um subproduto que ser\u00e1 sempre produzido, enquanto o mundo precisar desse tipo de combust\u00edvel e por isso faz sentido em termos econ\u00f4micos e ambientais usar este subproduto para produzir embalagens pl\u00e1sticas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Por que os res\u00edduos de pl\u00e1stico est\u00e3o enchendo os aterros? &#8211; Outro equ\u00edvoco, porque o pl\u00e1stico tem uma propor\u00e7\u00e3o muito pequena no espa\u00e7o no aterro.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Por que \u00e9 s\u00edmbolo do usar e jogar fora da sociedade? &#8211; Bem, a vida se move a um ritmo muito mais r\u00e1pido, quer queiramos ou n\u00e3o. N\u00f3s n\u00e3o podemos mais comprar leite em uma vasilha da loja da esquina, e as embalagens se adaptaram \u00e0 vida moderna. Claro que temos de reciclar pl\u00e1stico sempre que poss\u00edvel, mas n\u00e3o \u00e9 suficiente usar pl\u00e1sticos reciclados, porque, reciclados ou n\u00e3o, n\u00f3s nunca iremos recolher tudo, e alguns v\u00e3o inevitavelmente encontrar o seu caminho fora da coleta e acabar no ambiente <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u2013 nos fundos de vales, rios e mares -,<\/span> onde podem permanecer ou flutuar ao longo de d\u00e9cadas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Este \u00e9 o problema real &#8211; ao qual a Symphony est\u00e1 fornecendo a solu\u00e7\u00e3o em 92 pa\u00edses do mundo. Desenvolvemos uma f\u00f3rmula que \u00e9 adicionada ao pl\u00e1stico normal na fase de produ\u00e7\u00e3o e faz com que o pl\u00e1stico degrade no final de sua vida \u00fatil, por um processo de oxibiodegradabilidade, sem deixar res\u00edduos nocivos. Chamamos-lhe &#8220;vida controlada &#8220;ou&#8221; pl\u00e1stico inteligente&#8221;, \u00e9 o \u00fanico tipo de pl\u00e1stico cuja vida \u00fatil pode ser controlada.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Todos os pl\u00e1sticos se fragmentam com o tempo e s\u00e3o totalmente biodegrad\u00e1veis, mas d2w controla este processo, de modo que os fragmentos s\u00e3o bioassimilados mais rapidamente do que a palha, galhos e muito mais r\u00e1pido que o pl\u00e1stico convencional, reciclado ou de mat\u00e9ria prima virgem.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">d2w passou por testes de eco-toxicidade e n\u00e3o cont\u00eam &#8220;metais pesados&#8221;. \u00c9 certificado para contato com alimentos. Pl\u00e1stico feito com d2w tem muito pouco custo extra, porque \u00e9 feito com as mesmas m\u00e1quinas que o pl\u00e1stico convencional, evitando perda de empregos na ind\u00fastria de pl\u00e1sticos. N\u00e3o h\u00e1 necessidade de mudar de fornecedor, mas a Symphony pode fornecer produtos acabados, se necess\u00e1rio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Examinamos os tipos de pl\u00e1sticos de origem vegetal ou &#8220;compost\u00e1veis&#8221; e decidimos n\u00e3o fornec\u00ea-lo. \u00c9 demasiado caro para o uso di\u00e1rio, tem pior avalia\u00e7\u00e3o de ciclo de vida do que o pl\u00e1stico comum, e emite Metano no fundo do aterro.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Concordamos com o gerente de embalagens da Tesco, que disse em 20 outubro de 2009 que &#8220;n\u00e3o v\u00ea o valor na embalagem que s\u00f3 pode ser compostada industrialmente&#8221; e que &#8220;as autoridades locais n\u00e3o querem recolher, pois podem contaminar os sistemas de reciclagem existentes&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Em contrapartida, d2w pl\u00e1stico pode ser reciclado de forma segura. Saiba mais em www.biodeg.org\/position-papers\/recycling\/?domain=biodeg.org<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">*****<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Go into any supermarket and what do you see? &#8211; Plastic. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Not just carrier-bags, but almost everything is wrapped or bottled in plastic \u2013 from frozen peas to fresh potatoes \u2013 from sandwiches to milk &#8211; beer cans to newspapers, televisions and even ironing boards. At the back of store there are acres of shrink-wrap, pallet-wrap and bubble wrap used to deliver goods in bulk. Why? \u2013 because plastic is in most cases the best and most cost-effective way to protect goods from damage, contamination and wastage. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">So why are people concerned about plastic in supermarkets?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Because plastic is made from oil or natural gas, which is a finite resource? &#8211; but this is a mistake, because it is actually made from a by-product which will always be produced so long as the world needs this type of fuel, and it makes good economic and environmental sense to use the by-product.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Because plastic waste is filling up the landfills? &#8211; another mistake, because plastic takes up a very small proportion of space in the average landfill.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Because it is symptomatic of a \u201cthrow-away\u201d society? Well \u2013 life moves at a much faster pace whether we like it or not. We can no longer buy milk in a jug from the corner shop, and packaging has adapted to modern life. Of course we must recycle plastic where practical, but it is not enough just to use recycled plastic because, whether recycled or not, we will never collect it all, and some will inevitably find its way into the open environment, where it could lie or float around for decades.This is the real problem &#8211; to which Symphony is supplying the solution in 92 countries worldwide. We have developed a formulation called which is added to normal plastic at the manufacturing stage, and makes the plastic degrade at the end of its service life, by a process of oxo-biodegradation, leaving no harmful residues. We call it \u201cControlled-life\u201d or \u201cIntelligent\u201d plastic, as it is the only type of plastic whose life can be controlled.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">All plastic will in time fragment and completely biodegrade, but d2w controls the process, so that the fragments are bioassimilated faster than straw and twigs and much faster than ordinary or recycled plastic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">d2w has passed the usual eco-toxicity tests and does not contain \u201cheavy-metals.\u201d It is certified for food-contact.Plastic made with d2w costs very little extra, because it is made with the same machinery as normal plastic, and it causes no loss of jobs in the plastics industry. There is no need to change suppliers, but Symphony can supply finished-products if required.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">We have examined the vegetable-based or \u201ccompostable\u201d type of plastic and we have decided not to supply it. It is far too expensive for everyday use, it has a worse Life-Cycle Assessment than ordinary plastic, and it emits methane deep in landfill.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">We agree with the packaging manager of Tesco who said on 20th October 2009 that they \u201cdo not see the value in packaging that can only be industrially composted\u201d and that \u201clocal authorities do not want to touch it, as it can contaminate existing recycling schemes.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">By contrast, d2w plastic can be safely recycled.
